The Dialogue Systems Group is integrated into the
Information Technology Insititute at Ulm University.
The group has placed its focus on user-friendly
human-computer interaction. This includes the development of
robust and flexible spoken language dialogue system component
technologies, approaches to adaptive and assistive dialogue
management as well as evaluation and usability issues.
Two interdisciplinary initiatives form the research framework.
The Dialogue Systems Group is a member of the Research
Center Automotive Electronics and Information Systems.

The group is also a joint founder of the
intersdisciplinary Competence Center Perception
and Interactive Technologies.
The aim of the
Steinbeis-Research Center Dialogue Systems is
to foster technology transfer to industry in the
area of speech-based human-computer interaction.
The research center offers spoken language
dialogue systems technology studies as well as
support in component development and quality
assessment.
